Maiden on weed.

I am…
Brandon Whalen from Dark Country. And very hungry.

I would never ever…

wrestle a racoon.

I would instantly…
join a Neil Diamond tribute band.

In my next life…
I would have less hobbies. Probably stick to just music. I am a jack of all trades, master of none.

If only I had known…
that the seat was up.

It is long overdue…
me, getting proficient at Guitar. haha

Sex, Drugs & Rock’n’Roll…
Badminton, scones, & Soft Jazz.

The first record in my collection…
it may have been an Ian Pooley record. That’s right, House music.

A band worth seeing live…
Refused. If anyone will ever get the chance again.

A band I would have loved to see…
At The Drive in.

The best show we ever played…
Tough to say. Typically when we come back from a tour we will play at a local bar here in Portland. The Alleyway. The support and reaction we seem to get there is always top-notch. Something about that place. Everyone is always in a great mood.

The worst show we ever played…
On tour in northern CA. I was sick, so I was drinking hot toddies all night. We ended up getting put on the bill last, in a place we have never played, at a show that wasn’t really promoted for us. So I think we all decided separately to have a few too many drink. Thinking that the rest of the band would hold it together. I think it was only moment before the show we realized we had ALL done that. haha. It was a rough one. Fortunately no one was really there to see it. Definitely learned our lesson that night!

The best thing in our band history…
We all right the music. We jam it out together and add stuff/take away stuff as a band. It’s not just one or 2 of us.

The worst thing in our band history…
You know, it’s really not ever been that bad. We have had a couple long hiatuses (upwards of a year and a half, before we got Jake (vox) in the band. In the grand scheme though, it’s been pretty great.

Looking back…
We have played some pretty awesome shows. We work hard at everything we do, and nothing has ever come easy to us. I don’t think that has ever bothered us though. It’s that much more rewarding. I can’t think of much I would change, honestly.

In 10 years…
It’ will be something like our 15 year anniversary as a band. Whoa! In that time we will cover a lot of miles and made a boat load of friends. We will be old men with back problems and crippling whiney stories about “back in my day…” Haha. At the way we are aging, that’s probably not far off.
