Nachgefragt… bei Jordan von Rozwell Kid

Rozwell Kid aus West Virginia veröffentlichen kommende Woche ihr neues Album “Precious Art” via Sideonedummy Records. Um ein bisschen Namedropping zu betreiben – das Quartett bewegt sich irgendwo zwischen folgenden Bands: Weezer, Dinosaur Jr, Joyce Manor, Nerf Herder, The Darkness. Nachgefragt… geht in eine neue Runde.

I am…
… Jordan from Rozwell Kid.

I would never ever…
… eat cheesecake. I can’t stand the texture. Pumpkin pie is on thin ice, as well.

I would instantly…
… drink all of the coffee in your kitchen if you gave me the chance.

In my next life…
Were I to be reincarnated, it would be cool to be a spoiled house cat. The kind of house cat that gets an entire can of Fancy Feast. Relax all day. Chill out at night. Takin’ naps, not eatin’ scraps. Stretchin’ and yawnin’.

If only I had known…
… anything about the potential of personal computers and the internet, as well as a comprehensive understanding of finance and investment when I was 13 years old.

It is long overdue…
… for a mainstream ska resurgence.

Sex, Drugs & Rock’n’Roll…
… is a cliche phrase that I wish would vanish from the musical lexicon.

The first record in my collection…
… was probably either Alapalooza by Weird Al Yankovic or Insomniac by Green Day. I can’t really remember the first album I bought with “my own money.” The first record that was extremely important to me was a bootleg cassette copy of Dookie that my junior high social studies teacher made for me.

A band worth seeing live…
… Rozwell Kid 🙂

A band I would have loved to see…
… The Who when they were playing Holiday Inns.

The best show we ever played…
It’s a tie: The Fest 2014 at Durty Nelly’s in Gainesville FL and The Fest 2015 at Boca Fiesta in Gainesville FL. Our 2014 appearance at The Fest was special because it felt like the first time we played to a crowd of people who had heard our music and wanted to see it live. The 2015 appearance was special because it was just like the 2015 show, but cranked to 11 and it was so much fun.

The worst show we ever played…
We’ve been extremely lucky and had very few “nightmare show” scenarios. Once in El Paso, I think two or three amps broke during the show, and I cut my lip on a busted microphone. In Antwerp, right in the middle of our first song, the sound guy walked to the front of the stage and shoved the stage monitors together, simultaneously unplugging ALL of our pedal boards. We just started over.

The best thing in our band history…
… was probably playing in a really old church in Glasgow while wearing full-body lion pajama costumes that Into It. Over It. gifted to us. It’s the only time we’ve been to Glasgow, so a lot of people who were at that show might think we perform in lion suits every night.

The worst thing in our band history…
… the way those lion suits smelled after that show.

Looking back…
… I feel extremely fortunate for the insane opportunities Rozwell Kid has been afforded. I’m also very proud of our hard work.

In 10 years…
… I hope to have a comprehensive understanding of finance and investment.
